JUSTINIAN I, (527-565), gold solidus, issue of 527-538, Constantinople mint, (4.42 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust three-quarter face to right, holding spear and shield, around DN IVSTINI ANVS PP AVC, rev. Angel standing facing holding long cross, and cross on globe, around VICTORI A AVCCCE, in exergue CONOB, star in right field, (S.137, DOC 3e, MIB 5). Nearly extremely fine, scarce.
