MACEDON, kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.42 grams), Amphipolis III mint, issued c. 323/2-316/5 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, aplustre below, monogram of **P dot on right, above **FILIP [POU]*. (cf.S.6683, Le Rider Pl.46, [p.124]). In high relief, off centred on the obverse, test gash on reverse, otherwise round with attractive pale grey tone, good very fine and rare.
