THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.12 grams), Alexandria Troas mint, issued 297-281 B.C., obv. head of deified Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted circle, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, AP monogram to left over bee, fulman in exergue, to left **BASILEWS*, to right **LUSIMAXOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson 159 [pl.22, 247 same obverse die]). Lightly double struck on legend, a marvelous portrait of Alexander, redolent of the famous 'K' tetradrachms of Pergamon, almost extremely fine/good very fine and rare.
