MARINIANA, wife of Valerian, (died prior to A.D. 253), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 256, (13.61 grams), obv. diademed veiled and draped bust of Mariniana to right, around [DI]VAE MARINIANAE, rev. peacock standing facing head to right, tail in splendour, around [CONSE]CRAT[IO], S C in field, (S.2931, RIC 9, C.7). Squarish flan, dark patina, good fine and very rare.
