(ATHENA FUND II), the property of the Merrill-Lynch Investment Fund, sold by Sotheby's in two auctions held in Zurich from 26-8th October 1993, 1890 lots, every coin illustrated with descriptive text, 14 colour plates, the first part (156 lots) with every coin illustrated, detailed texts and most coins in colour, with prices realised list. Last with a few prices entered in, otherwise fine and very scarce. (2)
These sales rank next to the Hunt sales of the early 1980's in importance and quality of production. The sale includes coins from a number of important hoards, including the Selinus, Larissa and Samaria hoards.
