EDWARD THE CONFESSOR (1042-1066), silver penny, pointed helmet type, issued 1053-6, rev. LEOFPIND ON GIPE (Ipswich) (S.1179, Br. 6, BMC VII). Nearly extremely fine and very rare, the legend reading apparently unpublished.

Ex Noble Numismatics sale 59 (lot 782). The curious name and lettering form of the moneyer's name Leofwine is unusual.
