JOHN, (1199-1216) or Henry III (1216-1272), short cross silver penny, type 6c ornamental lettering, rev. no pellet stops, RAVF ON SANTAD, (Rauf of Bury St. Edmunds mint), (S.1355A, SCBI 56 Nos.1871-1873). Dark peripheral tone, large and good very fine.

Spink regards the issue as Henry III, but Wren 'The Short Cross Coinage places the series as very last issue of John.
