MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III (the Great), (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.354 grams), Alabanda mint, issued c.173-167 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right, with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to right **[A]LEXANDRO[U], to left under arm Pegasus to left, below throne **D*, (cf.S.6713; Price 2463, BMC 2463a-b, M.1146, SNG Cop. 756). Large flan nearly very fine.
