JULIUS CAESAR, (c.46-5 B.C.), silver denarius, Spanish mint, (3.862 grams), obv. Venus diademed head to right, small Cupid behind at shoulder, rev. Gaulish captive and Gallia captive seated beneath trophy, CAESAR in exergue, (S.1404, Syd. 1014, Cr.468/1, C.Julius Caesar or RSC 13). Slightly off centred obverse, otherwise good very fine and very scarce.
