GUJARAT SULTANATE, Shams al-din Muzaffar III, (A.H. 991-992, A.D. 1583-1584), silver rupee (10.99 grams), year A.H. 991, (1583), Ahmadabad mint, (G&G 647, Rajgor 2447). Very fine and rare.

IN 1583 Muzaffar III regained his throne for a short time and some rupees were struck following the Mughal pattern. Soon his position became untenable and the Mughals regained control of Gujarat bringing to an end this Sultanate.
