MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), posthumous issue on broad flan, silver tetradrachm, (16.724 grams), Temnus mint, issued c.180-160 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin without a dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, ANT monogram over vase, monogram of **PLUE on base line under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 1669, BMC 1669, cf.M.954). Well centred, nearly extremely fine/good very fine and rare.
