THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.884 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right HRAKLEOUS, to left SOTHROS, below ThASION, M to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1039). Weak in places on the portrait, otherwise good very fine/extremely fine.
