GROUP OF FOUR: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. PA2016 J. Prideaux. First and second medals unnamed, third and fourth medals impressed. Uncirculated.

Cook J Prideaux was aboard 'HMAS Matafele' on a voyage from Townsville to Milne Bay, Papua in June 1944. The ship never arrived and four officers, twenty other ranks and thirteen islanders were lost. With Royal Australian Navy silver and enamel sweethearts brooch badge (by Stokes), Mothers & Widows Badge, Female Relatives Badge, news clippings of the day, letter from the Navy Office to Mrs Prideaux enclosing medals, original medal boxes, registration slip and compliments slip from the Minister of State for the Navy.
