ITALY, Campania, Neapolis (Naples), (c.395-385 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (6.922 grams), obv. head of female (nymph) to left, with diadem, rev. man-headed bull to right, Nike above flying to right, in exergue **[NEOP]OLITHS*, (cf.S.299 [£225], Rutter 191 [obv. die 113, rev. die 171], McClean 234, SNG Cop. 393 [both from the same dies]). Fine, very scarce.

Most examples of this period that come from this mint are worn coins. Six examples are known from this die combination all in public collections.
