BOIOTIA, Boiotian League, Federal Coinage, Thebes, (395-387 B.C.), silver stater, (11.812 grams), obv. Boeotian shield, rev. amphora with letters BO I**W* either side, club to right above grape bunch, (cf.S.2395, BCD 20 [Triton IX same reverse die], Pozzi Auction lot 1449, Myron Hoard Pl.**ST*, 1, Head 'Boeotia' p.77). Lightly toned, very fine and a scarce variety.
