SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleucos I, (312-280 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.10 grams), Seleucia in Pieria mint, issued c.292-281 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle on outstretched hand, **DI* monogram below throne, MHP**P* monogram to left, to right **SELEUKOU*, in exergue **BASILEWS*, (cf.S.6829, SC 117.1c, Newell ESM 4, SNG Israel (Spaer) I 109-113. SNG Cop. 1, ACNAC Houghton 941). Lightly toned, good very fine and scarce.
