SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, (145-140 B.C. first reign), silver tetradrachm, (15.738 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within fillet border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, in exergue monogram **HLO*. to right **BASILEW[S] DHMHTRIOU*, to left **FILADE LFOU [NI]KATOR[OS]*, (S.7053, SNG Spaer (Israel I) 1753 [Pl.113], ACNAC Houghton 1013). Bright, nearly very fine and scarce.
