PHOENICIA, Akko-Ptolemais, Caracalla (A.D. 198-217), silver tetradrachm, (12.178 grams), Dioscuri issue, issued 215-217, obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, around legend [AVT K M A] ANT**W*NEINO C CE[B], rev. eagle standing facing, head to left, wreath in beak, Dioscuri caps surmounted by stars between legs, around **D*HMAPX E**X UPA TO*C TO**[D]*, (S.-, Prieur 1222 [notes 61 examples known], Bellinger 257 [ANS Mum. Studies No.3, p.77, Pl.XVIII, 10, notes as Tripolis mint]). Off centred obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
