TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.530 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763 [£375 EF], RIC 30, BMC 48, H.916 [304]). Round and slightly off centred on the reverse, otherwise very fine and rare in this condition.

Ex John Dean Collection. Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
