VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 70, (3.478 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Pax seated to left holding olive branch and caduceus, COS ITER TR POT around, (S.2285 [£65VF], RIC 10, RSC 94h). Weak on part of the obverse legend, otherwise good very fine and scarce.

The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 1725 denarii of Vespasian but none of this variety.
