ANTONINUS PIUS (A.D. 138-161), silver denarius, issued A.D. 146, (3.23 grams), obv. laureate head right, around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, rev. COS IIII, clasped hands holding cornucopiae between corn ears, (S.4078, RIC 136, RSC 344). Toned, good very fine and scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously bought in November 1982. The Reka Devnia hoard of 81,044 silver coins contained 7734 coins of Antoninus Pius, it contained 191 coins of this type.
