MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, issued A.D. 167-8, (3.20 grams), obv. laureate head right, around M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. TR P XXII IMP IIII COS III, Aequitas standing left holding scales and cornucopiae, (S.4078, BMC 453, RIC 178, RSC 892). Toned, nearly extremely fine/good very fine and scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously bought from Italo Vecchi in July 1984. The Reka Devnia hoard of 81,044 silver coins contained 7716 coins of Marcus Aurelius, it contained 86 coins of this type.
