COMMODUS, (A.D. 177-192), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 183, (27.93 grams), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS ANT ONINVS AVG PIVS, rev. around ANNO AVG TR P VIII IMP VI COS IIII P P, [S C] in exergue, Annona standing to left, holding corn ears and cornucopiae, modius to left, (S.5823, RIC 377, C.14). Light brown patina, short on flan, weak in places,otherwise fine and scarce.
