JULIA MAMAEA, mother of Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued 231, (19.19 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Mamaea, IVLIA MAMAEA AVGVSTA, rev. VENVS VICTRIX, SC across field, Venus standing to left, with shield at her feet, holding helmet and sceptre, (S.8235, RIC 705, BMC 718, C.78). Dark brown patina, good very fine/good fine.
