PUPIENUS, (A.D. 238), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, (4.616 grams), issued May - July A.D. 238, obv. bearded Pupienus radiate draped and cuirassed bust to right, around IMP C M CLOD PVPIENVS AVG. rev. clasped hands, around PATRES SENATVS, (S.8521, BMC 81, RIC 11a, RSC 19). Large flan, nearly extremely fine and rare.
