POSTUMUS, (A.D. 259-268), AE double sestertius, Cologne mint, (15.43 grams), obv. radiate bust of Postumus to right draped and cuirassed, around [IMP C M CASS] LAT POSTVMVS P F AVG, rev. galley travelling to left with rowers, AVG in exergue, around degraded [LAETIT]IA, (cf.S.11409, cf.RIC 143, cf.C.179, dies not in Bastien but compare reverse 186A, engraver No.5). Large flan, light brown patination, portrait good fine, otherwise fair and rare.

Ex John Dean Collection, Antiquarius, New Zealand, 2004. The obverse is of good workmanship and probably from the Cologne mint, but the reverse is very degraded as is the lettering.
