SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 222, Rome mint, (3.112 grams), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. MARTI PA CIFERO, Mars standing left holding olive branch and spear, (S.7884, RIC 160, RSC 173a). Brilliant, as struck nearly uncirculated and rare in this condition.
