NEW SOUTH WALES, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813 (Mira Noble NDV/4 equals 1790/5, dies -:I struck on a Charles IV (with Charles III portrait) 1790 (or 1789) eight reales Mexico City Mint, moneyer F.M. Countermark worn smooth on obverse, fine on reverse, coin overall well worn and fair, rare.

Ex A.B.Triggs Collection (Lawsons Sydney 1945, together with dump). The owner's grandfather purchased this lot at the auction. Mira Noble incorrectly identifies NDV/4 as being in the Dixson Collection (on information from the late Phillip Spalding). This error has been confirmed by the State Library, which checked the attribution against the Dixson Collection.
