The triskles depicted on these patterns are symbols of the Isle of Man and remained on almost all Isle of Man coinage until the present. Also known as the triqueta or triune, it is an ancient symbol possibly chosen due to the island's equidisdant location from Scotland, Ireland and England. There were no coins struck for the Isle of Man from the middle of Victoria's reign until Elizabeth II. This selection of double florins 'guesses' the appearance of a hypothetical Isle of Man late 19th century large silver coin. Total mintage 360 sets.
