SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.424 grams), Antioch mint, issued year 160-156 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **[B]ASILEWS, to left **DHMH TRIOU, outside inscription to left **PA* monogram, plain in exergue, (cf.S.7015, Newell SMA 82, BMC 29, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 1261). Very fine, scarce.
