SASANIAN KING, Artashir II, (A.D. 379-383), silver drachm, Type I/3, (4.09 grams), obv. bust to right with crown as a close-fitting headress, pearl border and globe aabove, name in outer margin, rev. fire altar with attendants, holding spears, facing altar, (cf.Sellwood 34, cf.Gobl 121, M.905) (illustrated). Toned, nearly extremely fine and rare.
