ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (c.375 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.78 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, rev. bull butting to right, **QOURIW[N]* and above, tunny fish below in exergue, with exergual line, (cf.S.442; SNG ANS 1009 [similar dies]). Bright, off centred on the obverse and less so on the reverse, otherwise good fine/very fine and rare.
