L. CASSIUS CAECIANUS, (c.102 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.85 grams), obv. Ceres bust to left, CAEICIAN behind, F. above, rev. two yoked oxen and plough to left, L. CASSI in exergue, Q. above, (S.199, Cr.321/1, Syd.594, B.Cassia 4). Attractive grey and golden red tone, very fine/nearly extremely fine and rare.

The type refers to colonisation probably by an ancestor.
