SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 226, Rome mint, (3.97 grams), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. ANNO N A AVG, Annona standing to left holding corn ears and cornucopiae, at her feet a modius, (S.7857, RIC 133, RSC 23). Brilliant, nearly uncirculated and rare in this condition.
