UMAYYAD CALIPHATE, `Abd al-Malik, (A.H. 65-86) (A.D. 685-705), gold dinar, anonymous dinar, no mint name (but Damascus mint), dated A.H. 79 = A.D. 698-699, (A.125, BMC 3, W.189). Full flan, very fine and very scarce.
One of the earliest dates of Islamic gold dinars.
