ANCIENT INDIA, Magadha and other Empires, (400-100 B.C.), punch marked square shaped issues), silver karshapana, with set of five punch marked symbols on the obverse, both with additional marks on the reverse; Western satraps, silver drachm of Damajada son of Damaseba A.D. 250-255; Vishnukundin Empire, bronze 22mm, A.D.c.500, obv. lion to right, rev.Sankh shell, (coin fairly corroded), (M.5123); Islamic, Ghaznavids, Mahmud (A.H.365-387) (A.D. 999-1030), silver multi dirham, (A.1608, M.765-6); Urtukid, silver dirham, Majd al Din 'Iza Al Zahir, (A.H.778-809), (A.1845, M.1105-6); Arab-Sassanian issues, silver hemidrachm of the Muslim successors of Tabaristan by anonymous Arab rulers, with 'Afzut (strong)' instead of governors name, (PYE 136, A.H. 171, A.D. 787), (M.289-290).
