Graham Massey Broadbent. Lance Corporal, 21st Australian Infantry Battalion. Born East Melbourne, Victoria. Enl.07Jul1917 W.I.A.05May1917 Rouen, gunshot wound in the neck. Disc.11Apr1919. MM. L.G.: 20Oct1916, C.G.: No.62 19Apr1917 'For conspicuous gallantry and endurance at Mouquet on the 26th August 1916 as runners between the front line and Brigade Headquarters under heavy fire of machine guns and artillery. L/Cpl Broadbent in particular distinguished himself by his instant readiness to undertake dangerous duty and the reliability of his work. The services of both soldiers call for the highest praise' (joint recommendation with the MM award to Private P.Mortimer)
