SICILY, Syracuse, (344-317 B.C.), silver stater, (8.516 grams), obv. Pegasos flying to left, nothing below, rev. head of Athena to right, wearing plain Corinthian helmet, around **SURAKOS[IWN], (S.961; SNG Lloyd 1437, BMC 3, Plate XXV,3). Obverse struck from slightly rusted dies, golden peripheral tone, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
