IONIA, Teos, (495/490-478 B.C.), silver didrachm or stater, (11.804 grams), obv. Griffin seated to right on base line, with raised foreleg, before upwards THI, rev. incuse square of rough form, (cf.S.4576, Balcer [SNR 1968, Vol.47], No., 28 [A-/P-], example in Berlin). Odd shaped flan but of full weight, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.
