SABINA, wife of Hadrian, (died A.D.136-7), silver denarius, issued 128-136, (3.280 grams), Rome mint, obv. draped bust to right of Sabina, with hair knotted at back of head, around SABINA AVGVSTA HADRIANI AVG P P, rev. Indulgentia seated to left, holding sceptre, around INDVLGENTIA AVG P P, (cf.S.3921, RIC 417, RSC 36, BMC 954A). Dark grey and gold patina, edge split, extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Spink Australia, 1977 with ticket. This issue is regarded as a hybrid as the coin is mule of a Sabina obverse and a Hadrian reverse. There were no examples of this type in the Reka-Devnia Hoard.
