CELTIC, Lower Danube Region, reduced weight issue in Oltenia and Bucuresti areas in the territory of the Getae, imitation of Philip II tetradrachm, (late 3rd - 2nd century B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.46 grams), obv. crude very simplified head of Zeus to right, rev. horse to left with crude lines above as remnants of rider, pellet between fore-legs, (cf.S.211-2, cf.CCCBM Vol.I, type E1 [hair on forehead type], No.68 [similar dies], Pink OK 147-149, Casterlin 1269 [p.205], Sammlung Lanz 433 [similar dies]). Minor flan crack, nearly very fine and very rare.
