ITALY, Bruttium, Croton, (299-281 B.C.), silver sixth stater or diobol, (0.93 grams), obv. Athena head to right wearing crested Corinthian helmet KROT**W*NIATAN around, rev. Herakles standing to right, lion skin over shoulder, club in right hand, to right **OIKISTAS*, (cf.S.480, cf.SNG ANS 425-7, cf.Gale 63). Toned, nearly very fine/very fine and a rare obverse legend reading for this type.
