ATTICA, Athens, (c.480 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.59 grams), obv. crude Archaic style head of Athena to right wearing Attic helmet, rev. owl standing to right, head facing with broad neck, body of dot olive twig and two leaves, with central berry, to right, **[AQE], all in incuse square, (S.1846 [£750], cf.Asyut Hoard 339-344 [Group IVf], Seltman Group E, cf.No.110, [cf.A72, P81, similar if not the same dies], SNG Cop. 15-18). Light weight, porous and with test cuts on the reverse, crude style, fair.
