ANTONINIUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), posthumous issue, silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 162, (3.310 grams), obv. DIVVS ANTONINVS, bare head to right of Antoninus Pius, rev. DIVO PIO around, statue of Antoninus Pius enthroned to left holding branch and resting on sceptre, (S.5194, RIC 442, RSC 352). Good very fine and scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his tickets and previously acquired from Sotheby's Auction May 15, 1974 (bought from Vecchi).
