GREAT BRITAIN, spectacular balloon flight cover, The carte postale, postcard posted at Tosse (sweden) 14.10.1907 to a "Herbert White, 187 Pitt Street, Sydney, was thrown out of Mr. J.L. Tannar's "Mammoth" balloon "Daily Graphic" Expedition, The card from Streatham Sept. 5, 1907 with detail written from Mr. White's sister. Fine and rare.

Lot includes a photocopy of extract of book Lighter than air Machines 1871-1914 (p.36) which describes the flight and that souvenir postcards were carried by the balloon "Mammoth" on its ascent from the Crystal Palace on 12 October, rose to over 12000 feet and proceeded out over the North Sea it made a bumpy descent near the village of Tosse in central Sweden. These cards are described in this book as major rarities today,
