MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.702 grams), Magnesia ad Maeandrum mint, issued 282-225 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, HMTOP monogram to left in field, maeander pattern in exergue, to right, **ALEXANDOU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 2025, BMC -, M.-, Mektepini 374). Very fine/nearly extremely fine and scarce.
