GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianii, Rome mint, issued 238-9 obv. radiate bust right, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG around, rev. PROVIDENTIA AVG, Providentia standing to left holding globe and sceptre, (S.2458, RIC 4, RSC 302); others issued 240, similar obverse, rev. ROMAE AETERNAE, Roma seated to left holding Victory and spear, (S.2459, RIC 38, C.312) (6). Very fine. (8)
