CORRESPONDENCE RELATING TO THE DEATH OF 3352 SAPPER SPENCER DE VERE 4TH PIONEERS AIF KILLED IN ACTION ON 8 AUGUST 1917 AT FANNY'S FARM MESSINES. A Greating Card, a Christmas Card and two letters dated 9 june and 1 july 1917 by Spr De Vere to his mother. Letter from the Australia red Cross Society dated 10 Jan 1918 to Mrs DeVere of Brisbane with five witnesses' statements attesting to the circumstances and details of his death. Two small photographs, one of Spr De Vere and the other a group photograph in france with an identifying inscription on the reverse of the second photograph.
