MACEDON, Kingdom of, Antigonos Gonatas, silver tetradrachm, 277-239 B.C., (16.866 grams), obv. Pan's head to left, with pedium on shoulder, all within Macedonian shield, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing to left, with thunderbolt and shield, Macedonian helmet in field to left, **HL* monogram to right, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **ANTIGONOU*, (S.6783, SNG Greece II (Alpha Bank) 986, SNG Cop 1199, Mathisen ANS MN 26 [1981] p.111 [for monogram]). Surface scratches on reverse, otherwise very fine and scarce.
