MACEDON, Kingdom of, Perseus, (179-168 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.910 grams), obv. laureate bearded head of Perseus to right, rev. eagle, wings open standing on thunderbolt, **BASI LEWS* above, **PER SEWS* below, monograms AY above, K- to right and **F* between legs of eagle, all within oak-wreath, beneath which is a plough, (S.6804, A.Mamroth 21a [ZfN, 1928], Mionnet I 934 [p.589], cf.SNG Cop. 1267). Very fine and rare.
